Shelley Kauffman

Shelley is a qualified speech pathologist specialised in providing speech, language, and literacy  support to children from toddlers to teens. She specialises in early intervention for young children. She has extensive experience supporting the communication development of children with diverse needs including autism. Shelley is a neurodiverse affirming therapist who supports the individual needs of the children with whom she works.

qualifications

Shelley completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Sydney and her masters in Speech Language Pathology at New York University. She is a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She has worked across school, private practice, and hospital settings and has specialised training and interests in the following:

Shelley brings creativity, energy, and enthusiasm to her work. She is naturally playful and fun. Above all, she strives to build meaningful relationships with her clients and their families and help kids feel supported to play and communicate in a safe environment where they can be themselves.

With a background in DIR/Floortime, Shelley engages in neurodiverse affirming therapy approaches. She strives to provide education, advocacy, and therapy practices that presume competence, and respect and celebrate individual difference.
